Key components of what Personal Protective Measures Australia teach include:

The Three Fights

  1. Physical Fight
  2. Legal Fight
  3. Moral/Ethical Fight

PPM training address all three ‘fights’ to ensure that when faced with a violent situation, students are equipped to survive and thrive.

Assess. Plan. Act.

The three stages of encountering violence. Maintaining awareness allows students to accurately Assess the situation. With this intel, students then Plan their efforts. Finally, when the time comes to Act, students have the necessary skills and competence to carry out their plan.

Attacks Involving Weapons

Wherever violence can be found, there will be weapons. Personal Protective Measures covers a large range of armed attacks including blunt weapons (baseball bats, clubs, batons), edged weapons (knives, machetes, swords), firearms and improvised weapons. Please refer to the Levels page for more information.

Multiple Attackers, Kidnapping, Mugging

PPM training is designed to address all scenarios and environments students may encounter. With the ultimate goal being to ‘survive and thrive’, it is important to understand how to Assess, Plan and Act effectively in these situations.

Defending From The Ground Or Against A Wall

For many people, being pinned or choked against the ground or a wall by a powerful attacker is terrifying thought. PPM courses go in to depth on techniques and methods to free oneself from such controls and restraints.
